IAF029 Skylark Patrol Flyer MkII released!

Since before the outbreak of the Prydian Civil War the various marks of the Type 41 Skylark Patrol Flyers have been part of the Muster regiments of the Precinct. Based on a designed from the era of the Ban of Prejudice the Type 41 was put into renewed mass production on seven worlds before the Battle of Fenway Prime. While the Adder Combat Car fulfils the needed role of a multi propulsion ground transport for Muster Platoons there was a need for an armed transport that could move in three dimensions. The Skylark fulfils this role well with the objective of moving troops from a staging area to the combat zone with no intervening stages. Capable of dramatic bursts of speed with its four jet engines the howl of an incoming Skylark is common to the ears of friend and foe alike. The Type 41 was given the name Skylark during its testing on New Glastonbury with a hint of humour. That species of ancient Terran bird was brought to New Glastonbury during its long ago original colonisation and its swooping grace is very much at odds with a vehicle that puts ascetics well behind protecting itself and its occupants.

There are five common marks of the Type 41 which are broadly as follows. The Type 41A Skylark Patroller is the most common of the flyers and is used as an armoured transport capable of carrying two crew and a fire-team of four Muster usually of the Patrol. Its armament is composed of a belly mounted rotary Moth 88 cannon and a top mounted Anda 60mm Missile Pod. Less common but often seen is the Type 41B Skylark Battle Bus which retains the belly mount but has an upper hull modification adding more internal space and an upper exit hatch which means it can carry two fire-teams into the fray at the cost of some protection and fire power. Speed is the aim of the Type 41C called the Skylark Screamer where the upper turret mount and internal space is given over to an additional jet engine mounted on the top of the hull. The Type 41C is used for rapid response and to give ground fire support in open terrain. Rarer is the Type 41D Skylark Big Lift which is unarmed but is fitted with a low slung rig for lifting cargo pods and pallets. But rarest of all is the Type 41E Skylark Eye which is a command and control flyer which features extensive top and belly slung sensor packages; this mark usual belongs to a general or other top ranking officer. All Skylarks have a titanium composite hull and are rated to extreme altitude though without extensive drive modifications it is not capable of reaching low orbit.

IAF029 Skylark Patrol Flyer MkII - Go HERE.
The Skylark is the main air support vehicle of the Muster Patrol and among its variants it typically carries one fire-team plus crew and provides gun runs too upon request. This, the new mark two Skylark Patrol Flyer Mark 41A is a 15mm scale vehicle in the form of a multiple part high grade grey tone resin kit. Composed of seven pieces which require assembly and can be fitted with a flight stand (not supplied). The multiple pieces are gun mounts and engine mounts allowing a good degree of posing for 'in flight' and 'landing'. Assembled the Skylark is 70mm long and 35mm across. You can find rules for its use in our own game system in the Callsign Taranis expansion book. Here is a picture of all the supplied parts of the model kit.

As with all our other codes you may choose from purchasing a single kit or three kits on screen with a 10% saving applied. Supplied unassembled and unpainted without a base (shown on a 40mm round base).

This Skylark is part of a small series of codes all around one theme. The others are IAF033 Crashed Skylark which depicts your flying vehicle on a bad day and IAF034 Skylark Cradle a structure which can hold your landed flyer. Excellent pieces with a wide variety of uses. Here are their details.

IAF033 Crashed Skylark
Fast engines and titanium alloy armour are not always enough to keep you up in the air and clear of danger. This Skylark Patrol Flyer has been shot down after a really rough exchange of fire with the enemy. Crashed into the rocky terrain of a world in the Prydian Precinct it lays with smashed engine housings and a battered hull. Lots of details and an excellent narrative piece for your games or simply as battlefield terrain. The Crashed Skylark Patrol Flyer Mark 41A is a 15mm scale vehicle in one high grade grey tone resin piece with is about 70mm across at its widest point. As with all our releases if you purchase three you can get 10% off the normal price. Go HERE

IAF034 Skylark Cradle
This one piece high grade grey tone resin structure fits right in not only with the IAF029 Skylark its designed to cradle for repair and reloads but also with the rest of the Ion Age 15mm terrain range such as the IAF015 Hab Dome and the IAF024 Fabricator Spire as a building in its own right. The Cradle is an industrial building with a high degree of detail. It is approx 70mm long and 60mm wide. As with all our releases if you purchase three you can get 10% off the normal price. Go HERE

This is our release for April 2019 and we hope you like it. March to War ends at 9am GMT 16th April (shipping returns to normal as does the price of the new Skylark).

On Offer the Steornede Battlesuit

All this month at The Ion Age our twenty percent off deal is on a Battlesuit in 15mm scale.  It ain't glamour like the Duxis, it ain't the hitter like the Havelock or the burly in the Jade Ape but it is the stable weapons platform that gives the Planetary Militia ass kicking ability!  IAF072 Steornede Battlesuit is a three piece resin and white metal infantry sized vehicle designed by Sam Croes with a choice of two load outs.  Click through to see it HERE or read on for a tale of adventure and some pictures from Faercycle II.

Losing your brother is always hard even for those who choose to stop calling them brother.  Even for those who cease to speak to their kin there is always a part of them in that brother which dies when they do.  Major Jiodine Kimball of the 37th Planetary Defence Regiment of Faercycle II had learned of his younger sibling's demise on Camarthen Prime years earlier but now in this moment it was painful in the extreme once more.  Frederick had died at the controls of his battlesuit in the streets of doomed Pelcan City as the Shia Khan Empire over ran the last cordons of defence.  He had died protecting civilians as they had fled for the last transports off the planet.  Jiodine had gotten closure, unlike many others, since his brother had managed to send a comms package; boosting it with what power had remained to his Steornede, his 'Beth'.  The package had been received by the main array on the Warlock, the Segurant class battlecruiser that was fighting for its own life above nearby Fantara space port.  Eventually it had reached Jiodine through the channels which spun out throughout the stellar cluster in the months at followed.  A short text only message and one still pict-capture.  Frederick's smiling face, a forced smile no doubt, but there none the less.  Behind him the control surfaces of Beth were a blaze of red and amber warnings and partially melted alloy from laser strikes.  The text included was short and must have been dictated in the instant of the photo.

“Jiodine.  Jiodine.  Tor, I hope this reaches you.  I can only hope.  The city has fallen and I'm not gonna make it.  PC119STR, Beth, its done.  Had it.  Legs are fused and one arm is gone.  I think I have burns to my legs too.  Bit foggy.  Nearly out of rounds and the foe is everywhere.  Everywhere.  I wanted to tell you.  Beth, the real Beth not this can.  She left me.  A year back, I never told you.  Sorry.  I sent the ring back to you.  Mother's ring.  It left here two months ago, should be safe.  If she makes it out, if you see her...tell her...tell her I did all I could.  Jiodine...I love you brother.”

Jiodine reached up, taking his hand off the controls for the Steornede which he was piloting, touching the photo which was affixed to the inside armour of the battlesuit. IP203STR 'Bean Bag' his battlesuit was in motion its thumping steps taking it towards the enemy now.  He had the words memorised.  Beth.  The real Beth had never been found and he had looked..how he had looked.  She was dead.  Of that Major Kimball was sure.  Most likely she had been dead when Frederick had sent the message but he would never know.  His brother was dead and his world was a charred husk now and site of the largest battles seen in decades.  Here on Faercycle II the enemy was limited by their downed Dragon Ships.  No endless legions from a Matter Gateway.  His attention was brought back to the present by the sharp cracks of Bodkin rounds zipping past Bean Bag and icons appeared on his display showing Khanate troops starting a headlong run towards the 37th and its strung out line.

Bean Bag.  Funny name for a gun rig like a Steornede.  He had earned it though.  This was his second battlesuit.  The first had been destroyed around him and he had walked away with barely a scratch by some miracle.  Torn and blackened it had toppled and bounced down a scree slope the internal space had filled with gravel and when he had been released from the suit the stone had spilled out everywhere.  Bean Bag.  He kind of liked it really.  Make those under him laugh when they heard it.  They would need a laugh by the time they took this alien starship; wrestled it from the Khanate.  Burned them out.

The first small arms fire began to hit his Steornede and he flicked his weapons to armed and active.  Targets were picked out by the onboard computer, calibrated and he pressed the studs that launched a hail of Anda 60mm missiles from his two arm pods.  Maligs were blasted apart in bloody ruin and a Warlord roared as it pitched forward its upper legs smashed.  Jiodine was in the fight now and troopers were hunched down behind Bean Bag's legs at it thumped forwards.  He fired again and the ammo counters spiralled down.  He was sweating now, the heat in the cramped pilots space building with each fiery release of missiles.  Around his neck on a golden chain over his breastbone was a ring which shuddered with every step his augmented legs took.
Major Jiodine Kimball, Invader Delta site, Faercycle II, 4338IC

A desperate last stand around a Steornede Battlesuit sees a group of IAFP11 Cold Climes Planetary Militia readying themselves for the end in front of a IAF015I Cratered Hab Dome.  A pair of Steornede Battlesuits armed with long barrel Moth 88's and Anda Missile Pods  move around the side of a Tohlic Crawler while two Militia confer upon a course of action.  Defend the banner!  The Steornede's stand sentinel guard among the corpses of Militia and Khanate alike (Legionaries from IAF123 Legionary Command Tesseran).  Two worlds collide in front of an IAF015 Hab Dome as a Steornede Battlesuit and Cold Climes with Moth Rifle meet the advance of an IAF018 Legionary Officer and an IAF039 Khanate Warlord.

If you like the look of this month's special then have a gander at Patrol Angis for skirmish warfare and The Khanate Return where you can learn all about the Planetary Defence Forces and their use of the Steornede Battlesuit.

Enjoy the special offer and remember that when you order from us you set up an account with the website.  Not for emails but rather that you may get the Reward Points which each order earns that you can trade in later for discounts and free things.  You get 100 Points as a free welcome bonus!  Extra value from The Ion Age.  Go to the front page of the website and click on the orange box.

In other news the three Early Supporter Offers on the hulking IAF146 Tohlic Armoured Crawler are live until 30th October so that is ideal to pair up with your Cold Climes Militia and or your Steornede Battlesuits too.  Go HERE for the offers.

IMP48 Baroness Julanne free in August and last monthly miniature - important article!

Four years ago The Ion  Age began anew with its website, its rewards programme and its 15mm pledge to action along with a vision for the space opera future and a free miniature in every single package going out the door.  In that first month we gave away IMP01 Retained Knight Kneeling in Cloak free with every order.  In the four years since until August 2017 we have created forty eight free monthly unique 15mm miniatures and many thousands of them have gone out across the world.  We now present to you the last free monthly miniature; IMP48  A special lady indeed as she featured as our introductory artwork for The Ion Age back in 2013.   Yes the last one. IMP48 Baroness Julanne of Canlaster is free in every order this month.  Read on for details of this month and where we are now heading with the completion of Year Four this month and the end of the monthly programme.

Free in every order every time all month. This miniature is automatically put into every order at the rate of one per order regardless of order value. It can also be bought in any amount on the monthly IMP page of the website for this month only too before being withdrawn on the first of September. You can see the Year Three Collection on the website.  The Year Four Collection will be released later in August and will mark the end of the monthly free programme at that time; there will be no more monthly miniatures after IMP48.

Standing 17mm tall Baroness Julanne is a great female character in personalised Alwite Powered Armour with an Octa Sword who can lead your Marcher Baron forces or be part of the Prydian Army.  She is the female figure head for our website and when we began and now she is a miniature! There is a complete page on the Ion Age website where all of the forty right IMP series free miniatures are shown so that you can see what came before.  They all feature in the Year Collections (1,2,3 and soon 4 and the total set too) if you wish to get any you missed. This miniature is worth 0.60GBP. Later this month we will release the Year Four Collection and the full IMP Collection of all 48 miniatures.

The end of the IMP monthly free miniature.
So I guess many of you will be wondering why we have chosen to end the free miniature project with the forty eighth miniature.  When I began this new Ion Age I was not sure it would succeed and in fact some even told me not to go for it  But it has grown and evolved and I am very proud to have achieved the first stage of my vision for The Ion Age in just under four years on my own terms.  It was my intent to get a game system created and to populate it with 15mm miniatures building upon a small starting block.  Patrol Angis along with Callsign Taranis and The Khanate Return achieved this and every miniature ever spoken about in The Ion Age originally now exists in 15mm scale both Human and Khanate.  Four years and forty eight free miniatures it is time to stop and re-focus efforts to the second stage of the vision.  We have so many ideas we want to get into metal and resin and there have been many changes in four years too.  As you will know 15mmcouk merged back into Alternative Armies and The Ion Age is linked to that.  As a total company we are busier than ever and this has altered our focus.  I have kept the Rewards Programme just as it is.  The programme has some five million points accrued with in it and a thousand rewards claimed. We will continue to do promotional and special miniatures with the seasons and for chuckles too.  With this turn of focus and other ideas to pursue it was time to end IMP.

I do not want to leave you here without giving you some hint of what will begin our next phase at The Ion Age.  From September 2017 we will be expanding upon the design work and books which your faith in us has allowed us to do so far.  Wider ground and what else is within and without the Prydian Precinct will see a new book and a lot of new miniature and other releases of a scope not yet experienced.  Read on.

The forth book in the Patrol Angis series will concern itself with the Marcher Barons, the Civil War and the conflicts among the stellar systems of the Precinct as well as details of those systems there will be a new faction long awaited...The Starvaulters!  New skills, abilities and equipment as well as characters like Diodine Sparrow of the Quarrel Company.  A definitive setting for war between knights and muster as Prydia Burns!  More of this as we near it and yes there will be a full range of miniatures for the Starvaulters the million strong elite of our space opera future.  That is the new project in The Ion Age for me in the form of book four.

Miniatures are what it is all about and 15mm goodness shall come forth in a massive expansion of the Shia Khan Empire and the Planetary Militia all from the hands of Sam Croes.  An expansion on a order of magnitude not yet seen from us and much larger than most Kickstarter campaigns too.  We will be adding every single one of the client races detailed in The Khanate Return at full Ordos (platoon) level which means around one hundred and sixty new 15mm Khanate from the Pertinax and Saurod to the Beotans and Betrayers as well as portable weapons crews for each of them.  Infantry Size Vehicles for each of these client races too!  As well as this nearly sixty new Planetary Militia with Cold Climes and Hot Climes as well as Infantry Sized Vehicles for them too. Lastly the Starvaulters at a full force too including their unique Infantry Sized Vehicles.  All in all this means in total more than 250 brand new 15mm miniatures from us from September on! That is the first goal for the second phase of the vision for The Ion Age.

During August we will have new vehicle releases and we will be taking part in an event with Alternative Armies plus we will be releasing the Year Four Collection of twelve miniatures and the total collection IMP of forty eight miniatures.  Our month long offer is 20% off the fantastic Jade Ape Battlesuit which is now a resin and white metal kit.  Go HERE for these with offer ending 1st September.

I hope you have enjoyed this article and that you like the last monthly free miniature.  Ain't she a beauty! Feel free to ask any questions you might have on our blog or by email to info@theionage.com.

Pugnus Light Tank and Manus APC Khanate 15mm vehicles released!

The Ion Age makes all of its releases for the month with the first two 15mm scale Shia Khan Empire armoured vehicles for you to use with IAB03 The Khanate Return in your games of Patrol Angis. Place your order and get your Pugnus Light Tank and or your Manus APC both alien and superbly different styled resin and white metal wheeled vehicles.  Every order gets Reward Points on your account and you get IMP46 Female Retained Knight Errant (worth 1.00GBP) free included and remember we have 25% off the IAF057 Knight Errants of Prydia character pack this month.  Read on for more or head for the website HERE now.

“The last town in the Glover Agri Zone was taken by four lances of the 23rd Regiment who came up against something not yet seen. Armoured vehicles designated Pugnus type light tanks.  One of these alien creations was blown apart by rounds from a Bodkin Type 6 rifle, its 28mm explosive penetrator shells punching through the deep red armour of the tank.  Another killed half a lance of Knights with its triple Jupiter 46mm plasma mounts before it was stopped.  With a  Pugnus destroyed, the only other aliens to be found were three short and stout power armoured Legionaries who appeared to be engineers of some kind.  Despite best efforts none of the three were taken alive instead they chose to open fire with Maia 9.6mm Mpi. It took only a day for the agriculture zone to be back in the hands of Humanity.  It was a fine beginning.  Food and more would now flow from the zone to the army and civilians had been saved and a new chapter for the Sigil was begun.  Glover would be a place from which to meet the aliens and drive on further.  The 23rd Regiment of Prydia was joined by the 207th Muster Regiment and armoured platoons from the 96th Regiment.  A combined arms force of nearly ten thousand troops which was going to set out from Glover to meet the Shia Khan Legion which was advancing north from the Chivers Zone.

The enemy force had been designated the Styx Legion in the established manner of fighting the oldest foe of mankind.  With purpose in their hearts the Knights and their Muster of the Prydian Army boarded their transport vehicles and their repulsar platforms and struck forth into the next battle.” - From The Khanate Return.

There are many images from all angles along with comparison scale shots and parts pictures all on the web page for each vehicle and they are too many to show here.  Please continue through to see them all.

IAF136 Pugnus Light Tank
The primary armoured vehicle of the Camarthen system in service of the Legions is a modular wheeled hull which is adapted to different uses. The most common of these the Pugnus is a light tank which has two side pods, each mounting twin Juno Lasers or Jupiter Plasma Cannons giving it the ability to support infantry and to take on enemy vehicles of light to medium types.  It is deployed in threes alongside Legion Tesserans which lack mobility and heavier firepower. The Pugnus is about 50mm tall and 50mm wide when it is assembled. This pack contains the following 15mm scale resin and white metal parts which can be seen in the mono image on the page: A centre hull, a right hull, a left hull, two Wheels and two Triple Jupiter Plasma Weapon mounts. This kit is easy to assemble. 7.00GBP Go HERE.

IAF137 Manus Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC)
The primary armoured vehicle of the Camarthen system in service of the Legions is a modular wheeled hull which is adapted to different uses. Adapted for use as a personnel carrier the Manus variant can take two entire Tesserans of Legionaries to where they wish to go and support them while there. Carrying them within its central wheels in stabilised comfort. The Manus is about 50mm tall and 65mm wide when it is assembled. This pack contains the following 15mm scale resin and white metal parts which can be seen in the mono image on the page: A centre hull, a right hull, a left hull, two Wheels, a 'rear end' personnel carrier assembly of four pieces and two Twin Juno Laser Weapon mounts. This kit is easy to assemble.  10.00GBP Go HERE.

Later this month the scenario for Patrol Angis set in the second Camarthen campaign called 'Once more to Grapple' will be published for free on The Ion Age Blog.  This scenario makes use of all three titles in the series and sees the Prydian Army take on the Khanate including Pugnus and Manus vehicles as well as this month's free miniature as a character called Briona Sullivan of the Barony of Messena.  It is a large scenario and is being play tested now.  You can see a picture (one of many which will be included) above.  The scenario picks up where the story in The Khanate Return left off in the Glover Agri Zone where Baron Heraldus Falkner has been given the task of taking the zone back from the aliens.  A veteran of two campaign including against the Gryre the Baron is aided by nobles and errants who have pledged themselves to the quest of Camarthen.

For more on the free miniature for the month and for our offer this month and our Reward Points system please refer to this post on our blog HERE.

Enjoy these fantastic new alien vehicles and there are more to follow along with a big expansion of the Shia Khan Empire's troops as well.  All in 2017.

Cover Art of Patrol Angis and Callsign Taranis Posters released!

We are delighted here at The Ion Age to announce the release of two more large artwork prints as posters on our website.  Following up on  Aris Kolehmainen's great Uniforms of the Prydian Precinct poster we bring you now the cover artwork by Sam Croes for our two 15mm scale wargame books. Patrol Angis and Callsign Taranis to be exact and now you can get your hands on the pure art without the graphics overlay from the books in A3 high quality for your wall. This is our last release of the month. Go HERE or read on.

Patrol Angis Cover Art
Atop a downed Battlesuit the heroes gather as the foes circle all around.  Their weapons make fire to the fore as behind a rebelling city is lit aflame by the laser bombardment of a low floating starship. This is how I see the cover of Patrol Angis. Digitally drawn by our lead designer Sam Croes this poster print was made locally here in Scotland on high quality 200gsm paper using rich inks.  Its a premium product to grace your wargaming walls with.  Bare or in a frame.  Supplied carefully rolled.  The image is exactly A3 size (300mm by 420mm) while the full post it sits on has a white framing border making the total dimensions 320mm by 450mm.  As with all of our other products we offer you several purchase options.  You can purchase one poster print at a great price or three of the same one and automatically save 10% on screen.  You can also get the poster print signed by the artist.

Callsign Taranis Cover Art
Majesty and sheer ruddy terror is what I think of when I see those Taranis tanks.  Lethal instruments of war advancing over broken rocky ground while behind them the torn remains of their last enemies are burning.  This is how I see the cover of Callsign Taranis.

We have three other poster prints which you can choose from and we will have more in coming months as well.  They are PIA001 Ylona of Prydia,  PIA002 Gateway Nox and PIA003 Uniforms of Prydia.  Super pieces of art, inventive and great for your wall.  You can see our poster prints HERE.

First Look at the new Patrol Angis book cover!

A week or so ago I tempted you all by showing off the sketch of the coming new A4 larger format Patrol Angis game book.  You can see this on our blog HERE if you missed it.  The new cover is now ready and it is here to be seen!

Sam Croes the lead designer at The Ion Age is a very talented fellow having taken up miniature sculpting after being a painter and digital artist first.  As you can see new cover is a scene of action with a group of Prydian Army Retained Knights giving fire to an invisible foe while atop a downed Havelock Battlesuit belonging to the League of Yordan.  In the background is a city which is greatly reduced and burning from the ongoing civil war and above a Segurant class warship.  We are considering a poster of this art if it is asked for.

Since we announced the increase in format size of Patrol Angis and the coming soon Callsign Taranis books we have sold out of the original smaller A5 format book which is now a collectors item and no longer on our website.  The new book and the game pack to go with it will return when we make the Early Supporter Offer which will be early next month.  Details nearer the time.

I hope you like this new art.  I certainly do and next time we will show you the new cover art for Callsign Taranis which is also awesome!  After that will be details of the new book and the Early Supporter Offer....

IAF035 Adder Combat Cars all six variants have returned!

After a break of several months the popular series of Adder Combat Cars the light vehicle of choice for Muster in The Ion Age have returned to our website and our trade accounts too.  While the vehicles remain exactly the same in appearance they have been overhauled and improved in their design for resin casting.  This means not only that they are easier to assemble but they are now also a bit cheaper (how often do you ever see that eh!) too.  We pass the savings on to you.  Go HERE or read on for more information.

One of the innovations that the very beginning of the Prydian Army made in the year before the battle of Fenway Prime was to bring back ancient military designs that had been brought to the Precinct by those first long forgotten Humans fleeing the anarchy of the species home world.  While the powered armour and energised weapons were inventions from the Ban of Prejudice a thousand years earlier the patterns for what would become the Havelock and Duxis battlesuits were taken from this ancient knowledge.  The Prydian Army had no ground transport for its Muster.  Ground transport that could bring the soldiers to the battle but also support them while they were in combat.  The answer came from this same source and became the Adder Combat Car series.

In the Resource Wars of the 21st Century before the time of the Ark Ships and mankind taking to the stars a similar style of warfare combined with a lack of raw material existed.  The solution of the time for the bulk of infantry was the Combat Car.  Easy to produce, easy to maintain and made from simple parts and well tested technology they were cheaper than any other vehicle of the time overall.  They could carry a four man fire-team or they could act in a support role with mounted weapons in the same range as those used by crewed weapons or battlesuits.  A modular hull meant that often only the turret and some internal systems had to be changed over to create a new model in the series.  Fitting new power systems and drives and moving away from the fossil fuels of the twenty first century meant that Reckart Nevall and the weakened Aeddan Council on the New Glastonbury Tor now had the Adder.

Adder Combat Cars come in many types within the series including newer different drive systems but the bulk of them are four wheeled.  With an average weight of just over five and a half tons and roughly sixteen feet in length that Adder is not a combat heavy weight like the Taranis.  A colour coding system is in use to make Adders easy to assign to Regiments (and indeed the Marcher Barons use the same system) and to allow Muster who can sometimes not be as used to war as a Retained Knight a simple recognition method.  The Red Adder is the standard Combat Car with space for four and mounting a turret with a Moth 88 Rotary Cannon.  The Yellow Adder is  the fire support car and has two crew along with a turret with an Anda 60mm Missile Pod.  The Black Adder acts as an armoured punch giving the Muster the ability to knock out battlesuits and other smaller tough targets with two crew and a turret mounted Fretan Rail Gun.  Less common is the Orange Adder which is infantry support mounting a specialised turret with a Moth 30 automatic 50mm Grenade Launcher which is a recent introduction to the series.  Dedicated Adders include the Green Adder which is a command and control car at the battalion level and the White Adder for medical teams and battlefield triage.  The 'Battle Taxi' type Grey Adder is heavily modified and can carry two fire-teams or a squad at a real squeeze.  There are also some very specialised Adders too for purposes such as Blue Adder, the Brown Adder and the Purple Adder.  Every Muster Regiment is in possession of hundreds of Adders across the spectrum for all its roles and since they are so easy to fabricate and to maintain they are making a real impact in the ongoing Civil War and in the Camarthen Star System too.
