“MkII Noblesse Powered Armour. Stopping short of actually building armour that must be piloted rather than worn the awesome Noblesse pattern is worn by Desteria Knights into the thick of battle. Fully sealed titanium alloy with an average of 27mm thickness across the body Noblesse makes use of the Chameleon Circuit and also uses the Celo 9 ultra thin layer of insta-nate ablative shell designed to shatter when impacted by enemy fire. This additional layer of protection along with paldrons of re-enforced titanium makes Noblesse three times more protective than MkV Alwite. Some Desteria fit the large Delver X jump jets to their armour while others opt for the cabled generator cells for on board energy based weapons such as the Valerin laser. All Noblesse armour features the flexible manipulator Impact Fist which can perform delicate tasks as well as smashing up to one foot of rubbacrete. Noblesse carries a built in primary weapon on one arm with large sealed ammunition reserves.”

This new code contains five different white metal 15mm scale miniatures the close combat specialists of the super heavy knights of the Ion Age.  All are wearing MkII Noblesse powered armour.  Armed with Octa powered sword or Roaz powered axe as well as Valerin Laser Rifles and Hermit Plasma Rifles. IAF172 Lord Pompous in Desteria Armour released

Back in September last year it was my pleasure to present to all the IonFans out there the tale of a new hero in an article by our good friend Aris Kolehmainen.  After this article was put online it was downloads some three thousand times and momentum grew for its titular character to be made into a miniature in his own right.  Gathering support resulted in an agreement from us and now Baron Pompous is released in all his splendour!  Our only release for this month is now out! The Desteria Knights are the super heavy infantry of the Prydian Army and of the Marcher Barons and the mercenary Condots.  Used to crack the hardest targets they carry the fire power of several Retained Knights and can withstand punishment which would destroy any lesser soldier.  We have a great value platoon pack of Desteria Knights which contains an additional free miniature unique to that code.  We also have two trooper packs and a command pack of these mighty soldiers which can all be seen on our website HERE.

A Pompous Heavy January 2019 at The Ion Age

A new year is here! Welcome to the last annum of the decade and it will be a grand one for The Ion Age. We continue to grow and to expand the range as well as the game systems. IMP41 Baron MacCauld Desteria Knight free for all January 2017!

“Welcome to the the new year!  The seventeenth of the new millennium.  We are in the future eh...now we are in the years in which the awesome movies of the 1980's were set (have a look online for 2017 to see what I mean).  It is going to be a big year for my little Ion Age in which we expect a new book or two plus new aliens, humans, vehicles and much more.  But first and as always on the first of a new month we have a new free miniature for the month and this time it is a Desteria Knight in super heavy Noblesse powered armour who is a fine character commander for your Prydian Army or Marcher Baron or League forces in the Prydian Civil War.  Happy New Year from all of us here in Scotland!”

Year Three Collection Released!

Year Three Begins!  Now that our third year of The Ion Age is at a close its time to release the twelve monthly free miniatures as set which can be bought as a set or as singles.  From September 2015 to August 2016 each of the IMF 15mm scale code monthly free were given away with all orders month by month. It has been a fun and challenging year for the tiny team that brings you The Ion Age (almost everything you see is myself and the awesome Sam Croes along with input from a few other designers such as Bob Naismith).  I am always grinning when working on this universe and the emails and comments of wargamers keep on telling me that we are doing the right things.   A small team here in Scotland that works hard following its own path for a massive vision of a far future space opera setting.  All of the money you spend with us creates honestly priced new miniatures from a team that loves wargaming.  That now said the 15mm range has over three hundred different sculpts spread across Retained, Desteria, Muster and Planetary Militia along with Shia Khan Legion, Nox, Pioneers, Maligs and Nox and more including the Prang and Ion Age civilians too.  We have about forty different vehicles and a range of buildings with two dozen different pieces.  We have Patrol Angis and Callsign Taranis too as our books.  We will keep on getting better!

Patrol Angis: Desteria Knights take on the Nox!

Even though we are quiet this month...Taranis tanks take up a lot of space and time...I have been working away on a scenario for Patrol Angis for future free publication on this blog.  The scenario is for two players or solo and uses the Patrol Angis book and the free Khanate Empire stats booklet PDF as well.  A working title of 'Big Fist Blues' sees a full lance of Desteria Knights defending a small outpost against power armoured Nox troopers trying to hold on until a Bantam Repulsar Raft can arrive to bring in back up for the knights.

These three pictures are from the early testing of the scenario.  I have only penned a half dozen scenarios for this rule system so far and this one has by far the most 'points cost' as it features the super heavy warriors of the Prydian Precinct against the same for the Khanate.  Lots of support grade weapons and tough nuts to crack.  Desteria are worth about two and a half Retained or four to five Muster on average and to have fifteen of them in three demi's gives a lot of punch.

The added feature for the scenario is the shallow stream which moves at a fast pace.  I have scenario unique rules for this suggesting the chance of a miniature being tripped, fallen, washed away while wading across.  I also have scenario unique rules for determining when the Bantam will arrive as well.  Great fun as it makes the Nox player press in fast and lethal.

IAFP03 Desteria Lance with Unique extra free miniature released!

“MkII Noblesse Powered Armour. Stopping short of actually building armour that must be piloted rather than worn the awesome Noblesse pattern is worn by Desteria Knights into the thick of battle. Fully sealed titanium alloy with an average of 27mm thickness across the body Noblesse makes use of the Chameleon Circuit and also uses the Celo 9 ultra thin layer of insta-nate ablative shell designed to shatter when impacted by enemy fire. Information Burst!

Salutations from our only week of releases this month.  The Desteria are some of my favourite models in the 15mm range.  Retained Knights get the glory but its the stomping heavies that get the tough tasks clearing out stubborn resistance and wading into the hail of lead.  If you have to hold the line at any cost then these are the lads for you.  On other fronts the reception to the approach of Taranis continues to be very positive (despite a couple of nasty emails but hey you cannot please everyone all the time and I am always polite in replies no matter what is said) and we will be releasing the Taranis Model 40 Tracked Main Battle Tank with all of its variants in October.  There will be an article showing all the pieces and giving information as well as scale shots later this month.  This month IMP25 Muster 'Cutter' Trooper is free in all orders.
