IB87 Retained Burgeon Bike: The Retained riders of the semi-sentient steed the Ventus. A sleek and speedy vehicle. The Regiments of the Prydian Army and the Marcher Barons alike has platoons that are mounted on bikes for added mobility and fire power.  Few have the reliability and rugged survivability as the Model 207. Used for scouting missions as well as battle roles it is popular with its riders.  The value pack has a saving and contains the resin one piece bike along with a metal Retained Knight rider (requires assembly) and a 60mm long textured bike base As well as the value pack the other new codes are IA246 Burgeon Bike and  IA247 Retained Knight Rider if you wish these on their own.

IB97 Bike Base:  This value pack contains four identical resin bases of 3mm thickness with a saving. Each has a textured top ideal for 28mm Bikes and with cartouche edging (just as our other resin bases) makes for easy lifting.  The bases are 60mm long and 25mm wide.

Our last 15mm sci-fi release of the year is here and is roaring into sight.  The new Burgeon wheeled bike (Ventus Model 407 Steed) is added to the range.  You can see it above with a hulking Afara Strider in the livery of the Prydian Army.

Portable Weapon and Gun Crews released 28mm Ion Age

 “It is well known to the regiments of the Prydian Army that while Retained Knights armed with the Angis 12.5mm AP Rifle can inflict serious harm upon any opponent there is a limit to their ability to bring to suppress areas of a battlefield. This applies particularly in open ground rather than in intense urban fights. Even with Alwite powered armour larger weapons cannot be easily transported. No experienced commander expects his troops to be able to stand against these kinds of threats without appropriate support. This was known before the outbreak of the Civil War and the solution to providing this support to infantry was taken from surviving records from the time of the Ban of Prejudice. 

 

Beginning in earnest in 4320IC with forty newly fabricated Espaten being fielded during an activation crisis in the Gurtan system these portable weapons mounted a Moth 88 two barrel cannon and performed excellently against the rampant artificial sentients. With an ability to mount a support weapon in the same power scale as a battlesuit and be controlled by a team of two gunners Espaten's could be deployed at the Platoon or Lance level easily. A far lower fabrication cost has also contributed to the rapid uptake of portable weapons as a regimental staple. Portable Weapons are just that. With a lot of fire power and easy to move from threat to threat they work well with troopers without vehicles or anything larger to assist them.”

New and restored releases in the 28mm scale Ion Age Range. Some 250 poses in one of the biggest 28mm sci-fi ranges in the world we bring back the Portable Weapon (not available for more than 20 years!) and its original Muster gunners plus brand new Planetary Militia and Retained Knight gunners. All of this works towards a new edition of MOTH the skirmish game rules but more on that nearer the time. News on the overhaul of The Ion Age 28mm range

The Ion Age 28mm range. Over 220 miniatures 1991-2022.  Alternative Armies is overhauling imagery and sadly increasing prices (ten percent) as well as making all poses singles for the first time. Platoons, Packs, Singles.  We are just starting now.

IA001 through IA016 as well as IA075 to IA078 which are singles as well as in packs IB01,IB02,IB03,IB04 and IB20 each of four poses with a 5% saving built in.  Lastly IP01 Retained Lance (picture above) which is sixteen figures two of which are free.  Here are a few examples of the new single and pack pictures all of which are front, side and rear on their pages. 

Have a gander at the website. This overhaul will take many weeks to complete and will be followed by more new releases and restored original codes too. Original prices on the website will be honoured until that code is updated and new pictures put in.

IAF163 Retained Post Echo our release for July 2018

“Brilliant with the energy flowing through its blade the first swing of Esquire Quiver's Octa Sword took the left leg of the flightless bird clean away from its body with a spray of super heated blood....”

The Ion Age makes its new release for July 2018 with ten brand new 15mm miniatures in IAF0163 Retained Post Echo.  Requested by players of Patrol Angis these knights have blades!  This pack is on our website now and as with all codes you can choose from a pack or singles from the pack or three packs and save ten percent.  Go HERE for the new pack or read on for full details.

“Brilliant with the energy flowing through its blade the first swing of Esquire Quiver's Octa Sword took the left leg of the flightless bird clean away from its body with a spray of super heated blood.  Screeching the seven foot tall avian creature collapsed throwing its Malig rider clean over its razor sharp beaked head.  Quiver reversed the sword and in a glittering orange arc used it to sever the head of the bird before cutting into the back of the sprawling Malig ending the enemy's attempts to free a Cupid laser pistol from its combat harness.  All around him Quiver could see other Retained Knights of the 308th Regiment likewise engaged with the Shia Khan at sword point distance.  They were greatly outnumbered by their goblinoid foes and in the spaces between the habitation domes of the settlement it meant that every Prydian was fighting for their lives without pause.  Powered swords flashed in glittering arcs while Roaz axes rose and fell in a murderous rhythm and Pelleas maces smashed into flesh and bone.  The aliens had either known that the meeting was taking place or, perhaps more likely, it was simply a coincidence that the lance had been in the wrong place when a horde of Maligs decided to set up their camp here.   

Bullets spanged off of Quivers Alwite Armour doing little harm but scoring lines in the delicate film layers that made up the camoflage Chameleon Circuit which caused his form to blend into its surroundings.  At this range the Malig gripping its Maia 9.6mm mpi could not have failed to see him.  He brought the Octa sword up and rounds exploded as they impacted against its blade....”

IAF163 Retained Post Echo

The fifth post of Retained Knights ready to see off enemies as diverse as the Marcher Barons and the Khanate Empire.  These knights are skilled in the arts of close combat and make use of powered melee weapons. Mix them in with your other knights for assault lances. Code IAF163 contains ten different poses all wearing Alwite powered armour and carrying a variety of weapons including Octa Powered Sword, Roaz Powered Axe, Pelleas Powered Mace as well as Tumbler ranged weapons.   As always this code can be bought as a pack or as single miniatures or select the three packs and save 10% option on the page.  Go HERE.  Price 5.00GBP per pack.

Later this month we will have a free Patrol Angis scenario featuring the new miniatures called 'By Sword Short and Long'.  A close in vicious fight which sees goblinoid Maligs trying to encircle a lance of Retained Knights with battlesuit support who are conducting talks with a Xin Trader; they will have to cut their way clear.  This full scenario takes place in the Camarthen stellar cluster after the activation of the Matter Gateway and during playtesting it was really intense!  Look out for the article.

Name of the Roaz a free Patrol Angis scenario to download

As foretold earlier this month with the release of the brand new 15mm scale character packs of Retained Knights it is our delight to present to you a free stand alone scenario for Patrol Angis called 'Name of the Roaz' which takes place just a little into the future of the Prydian Civil War as outlined in the books. It stars Diodine Sparrow in an infantry focused three way scenario which can also be played solo.  Will the Quarrel Company manage to escape with an ancient data slate?
