IAF059 Female Muster 2nd Squad released!

In one fluid motion the trooper in front of Emeritas Kildare undid the securing latches of her helmet and removed it up and away from her head. The trooper than took the helmet into the crook of her left arm and held it there before using her right hand to pull off the thin black cloth cap that held her hair in place flat against her skull. The cap was placed into the upturned Aketon helmet and then the trooper shook her head twice to allow her hair to spring free and then fall down past her shoulders. The Emeritas spoke.

“Private Feltan you have been ordered to report to this platoon from company command as our new support HW trooper. To replace Private Harris while they grow him a new leg.”

The trooper snapped to attention as her new Emeritas spoke. She had indeed been ordered here to the 3^rd Company rather than the 1^st Company which was a pity since her training scores in the use of the Ron 32mm Hi-Ex launcher in training had been highest in the cadre. First company was the place where the top performers went as far as she had been told upon arriving with the 703^rd Regiment on Nor Hampton IV two days earlier. The rest of the platoon were sat or laid out on the ground and they looked like real killers. Several had scars and virtually none had any hair on their heads. She noted their Moth Rifles were in perfect condition but that their clam shell armour was patched and torn by impacts. Had she upset the company commander somehow?

“Feltan you will be in 2^nd Squad. Same position as Harris. I see you have observing the rest of the platoon and you are likely thinking what sin you have committed to be ranked in with us. Well I will tell you. You are the best of the clean buckets to arrive on planet from orbit when it comes to the Ron launcher. That is what I need. I need the best. 3^rd Company is the finest outfit in the 703^rd. When we go back up against the Cannies and that will be real soon according to Command we will be at the front of the wedge.

The trooper continued to salute but she was now scared. Was this a punishment? Emeritas Kildare smiled at her and waved a hand to tell her to stop saluting. She was going to have to be good. On Nor Hampton the fighting had gotten vicious as the Cannies sensed a victory and the Prydians were stretched thin. They had been in action for weeks now. Kildare told her to take a seat and as she walked off towards the fire-team that would be a part of her now he added in a loud voice.

“We might even let you keep the hair.”

Information Burst

Its a new month and its going to be a Prydian focused and an infantry focused month at that. We expect this month to fly past as quickly as the last one (September was a blur!). As well as the brand new IMP14 Female Retained Veteran miniature which is free in all orders which goes really well with this week's release of Female Muster troopers we will more too.
