PIA007 Prydian Precinct Starmap poster and download released!

Our last release for January 2017!  When we released the Uniforms of the Prydian Precinct poster we were really happy with the reaction to Aris's efforts to show all the outfits of the Marchers Barons and Mercenaries and more of The Ion Age.  That was about the time we began to get requests for a star map of the stellar geography of the Precinct.  As you can imagine to create this in full is no small undertaking and so Sam Croes set aside some time and now the result is available for you all to enjoy. My own print is already on my wall.  We present PIA007 Prydian Precinct Starmap as an A3 poster and a digital download!  See all our posters HERE or read on for more.

Prydian Precinct Starmap

A thousand years before the outbreak of the civil war that would pull Prydian space apart the last Khanate war forced the detonation of a universal potent bomb.  This bomb called the 'Aldan Crucible' ended the Shia Khan incursion in this part of the galaxy by destroying not only their Matter Gateway but also the entire Aldan stellar system.  In the dark centuries that followed the detonation savage and exotic Dolorous Clouds formed across Prydian space which hid entire star systems and made travel in or near them very dangerous indeed.   This star map shows more than one hundred stellar systems as spoken of in our titles as well as the regions held by the League of Canlaster and the League of Yordan in the pivotal year of 4330 IC.  Great for your wall and for planning your campaigns in The Ion Age.

Digitally drawn by our lead designer Sam Croes this sixth of our poster prints was made locally here in Scotland on high quality 200gsm paper using rich inks.  Its a premium product to grace your wargaming walls with.  Bare or in a frame.  Supplied in a purpose designed postal mailing tube.  The image is exactly A3 size (300mm by 420mm) while the full post it sits on has a white framing border making the total dimensions 320mm by 450mm.  Go HERE.

As with all of our other products we offer you several purchase options.  You can purchase one poster print at a great price or three of the same one and automatically save 10% on screen.  You can also get the poster print signed by the artist.  Additionally with this work of art you can purchase it as a digital download of the hi-rez poster for half the price of the print.  Select this option on the drop down menu.  Go HERE.

IAF127 Malig Space Goblin Orba Bike 15mm set released!

The Maligs are the most numerous and the most vermin like foes which the Khanate Empire have fielded against us.  Unlike the heavily armoured Nox or well trained Pioneers the Maligs are deemed extremely expendable by their masters.  Given little training and often virtually no instruction in the use of their weapons and equipment Maligs are ranked low on the threat scale by our troops.  They are however not harmless or to be taken lightly and have proven very tough to dig out of urban areas once infesting by them.  Maligs focus on close range attacks where they can making great use of their smaller size and paucity of protection.  This leads to Planetary Militia formations suffering heavier casualties than expected; without Muster bolstering.  The exception to this are the vehicles of the Maligs which are avoided by any other Khanate client race.  The unpredictable and dangerous Infernus ball tank which can spread fire and destruction among our forces and the Orba bike.  The Orba is a studded sphere fitted with a saddle for a Space Goblin rider.  Observations in combat have testified to the rough construction of the Orba and its erratic travel much like its larger cousin the Infernus.  Most Orba's are fitted with a fixed front mounted Hydra Laser Shotgun operated with handlebar sited firing studs.  It does not seem that any bike is possessed by a certain Malig as they squabble and contest ownership each time they enter combat.  This works in our favour as the Orba is little match for the grav bikes of the Retained.
Academy Auto-Trainer Series 17, New Glastonbury, 4332IC

Our new miniature code for this month is the crazy Malig Orba Bike set.  That is the one Malig ball bike which is a scaled down vision of their other insane creation the Infernus Ball Tank.  This new pack fits right in with the 15mm Shia Khan Empire codes in our range as we build towards the next expansion book for Patrol Angis which will feature rules for this new bike in play.  We have Malig infantry and now they have not only the tank but also this bike too.  Go HERE or read on for more.

IAF127 Malig Orba Bike Set
This code contains three white metal 15mm scale miniatures.  These are an Orba bike with Space Goblin rider, an Orba Bike on its own and lastly a Malig rider on foot allowing you full choice on the gaming table.  The Orba is a ball bike with a saddle.  It is supplied with a separate weapon to be mounted on its front.  This weapon is a Hydra Laser Shotgun for close in attack.  A Malig stands about 12mm tall and in Patrol Angis they are mounted on 20mm round bases while all Bikes are mounted on a 30mm round base.  You can choose from a pack or three packs with a 10% saving or select poses from the pack to tailor make your choices.  This bike goes with the Malig Infantry in the range as well as with Legionaries, Pioneers and Nox.  Go HERE.  5.00GBP per pack.

Here above are some more pictures of this new bike closer in to the miniatures.  Then two scenic shots which show other codes for scale including IAF046 Infernus Ball Tank, IAF047 Malig Juno Rifles, IAF064A Hab Geo Shelter and IAF072 Steornade Battlesuit.  Cool!

We have many other miniatures in this part of the range which you can find by clicking HERE for their part of our website.  These include a platoon pack with unique miniature (a female Malig wielding a frying pan) of Maligs for an instant force with a saving as well as packs of Malig Infantry. We also have Malig special characters in our 'Year Collections' which you can see and select HERE. Go for IMP31 Padraig O'Malig (March 2016) in Year Three, IMP22 Malig Campaigner (June 2015) and IMP10 Malig Tank Ace (June 2014) in Year One; just select them from the drop down single figure menu on each collection.  You will also want to have a look at the madness that is the Infernus Ball Tank which is a rolling death machine with flame throwers crewed by Maligs; see it HERE.  All great for any Space Goblin 15mm force.

Merry Christmas and the Khanate Return next year at The Ion Age

"A matter gateway is active on Camarthen IV. Losses are mounting, send everything; everyone.
Send them now.  The Khanate have returned."

It has been a quiet month here at The Ion Age.  In fact the quietest month since we began this new space opera adventure...at least to all of you out there in the world.  While our blog and our website have been silent since the first days of December we have been busy working away at what will be coming your way in the first months of 2017.  With Patrol Angis and Callsign Taranis both released in print and as digital downloads for wargamers we are working on the third book in the One Hour Series.  We are working on...The Khanate Return!

The image here is a teaser, a taster.  In fact a concept sketch from back when we released the first new 15mm Shia Khan codes back in our first year.  Codes such as IAF018 Legionaries along with an entire Legionary Ordos (platoon) and the same for the Malig Space Goblins and the Nox power armoured troops.  We added Warlords and we put in the crazy Infernus Ball Tank too.  Enough for a flavour, for IonFans to get a feel for the Shia Khan Empire.  Next year we will go much, much further than this.

Building up to a new book in print and as a digital download we will be releasing new deeper Shia Khan codes.  We will show you parts of the book and we will show off concepts too.  Beginning in January there will be more infantry and infantry sized vehicles before we move onto portable weapons and special units too.  The Khanate will have their own vehicles with their own design ethos.  Your Taranis Tanks and your Duxis Battlesuits will find foes of an alien nature!

The Khanate Return book will take in not only the expansion rules for all Empire forces in Patrol Angis but also the forces of the Planetary Militia as well as the campaign for control of the Camarthen star system and the battles for the Matter Gateway and Pelacan City.  A desperate last stand against hopeless odds...

It is going to be excellent fun!

Remember all orders this month get IMP40 Rudolph the Reindeerbot free automatically (Festive Insanity eh!) plus our current special offer is 25% off Espaten Portable Weapon Platforms all variants.

Both of these stop come 1st January when we welcome the new annum and the cold of winter true...

Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year too!

See you in 2017!

“Welcome to festive time!  The last month of the year and as we go towards Christmas and the only time we take a full week off it gives me awesome wargame pleasure to present the next festive themed monthly free miniature.  Santa Desteria and his sweet friend Missiletoe Claus along with the Chrimbot are now joined by Rudolph the Reindeerbot!  Those who have been IonFans since we began have been asking increasingly what the theme months will bring and I don't like to spoil surprises so in adding to the 15mm oddness we have our fortieth month and forth Xmas mini and it is a robot red nose which will fit in well with your other Christmas miniatures and in any more mad scenarios you wish to run.  Merry Christmas everyone from here in Scotland!”

This month's miniature is a superb character robot by Sam Croes.  Standing 16mm to the eye line it is a titanium skeleton with sharp antlers and a ruby nose. There is a growing page on the Ion Age website where the current and all former IMP series free miniatures are shown so that you can see what came before. Enjoy looking at what came before.

Above you can see the now online IMPS03 Chrimbo Set which has all four Christmas themed miniatures in one code.
