IAF063 Arachne and Giliam released!

“The Cylde system is loyal to the throne and to the Council of Aeddans too.  True it is a strange place of local customs and traits that you will not see elsewhere but it is a fine addition to the loyal systems.  Primary population centres are on Cylde IV and this planet was the main focus of the Canlastrian League's recent attempt to seize the region for themselves.  Up to that point the Prydian Army strength in the Cylde system was small, no more than some thirty thousand troops and knights, with the bulk of the forces being the Clydian Army locally raised and trained.  During the siege the orbital dock works of Clyde IV saw a lot of action and the ships fabricated there were fought over at close range.  When the siege was raised by the arrival of our fleet there was a tense few weeks when we are sure that they assumed we would occupy their cities ourselves.  But it was not our intention and in fact we have since then incorporated just over one million soldiers of the Clydian Army into our ranks as Muster Regiments and a great many Retained too.  They are superb fighters and have proved their mettle already.  Mention must also be made of the ruling class of the Cylde system who have sworn their oaths to the throne almost without exception. Especially the pair who defended the portable castle Sawlande from Canlastrian Assaulters and brought its weapons to bear on the foe despite their damaged state.  The Lady Arachne and her aide the Knight Errant Giliam have been given command of a hundred strong Banner in the 9th Retained Regiment.”

IAF063 Arachne and Giliam
After their successful defence and taking the fight to the Canlastrians with the portable castle Sawlande during the siege of Cylde IV the Lady Arachne and Knight Errant Giliam have seen a lot more battles with the Prydian Army.  Giliam had been, as is fitting for a Knight Errant, wandering the systems looking for a cause and his arrival in Cylde space in the weeks before the invasion gave it to him.  The Lady Arachne is a fierce commander who values Giliams technical skills and he her tactics in war.  They make a fine pair and command a Banner (4 Lances) in the 9th Retained Regiment.  Arachne is dressed in personalised Alwite powered armour and carries an Octo powered sword while Giliam wears Alwite powered armour and carries a Valerin Laser Rifle and a Data pad making use of specialised googles and helm displays.

The month is now underway and as we promised it is an infantry focused period of time.  Last week we released the fantastic all female IAF059 Muster 2nd Squad and we would like to thank you all for your interest and support in these lady soldiers.  We are looking at characters this week as we release this new two figure pack and the next two weeks will be firstly a preview of our next big release (we have no Early Supporter Offer this month) and then a week later its release with an offer.  What will this be...well no details for now aside from to say that we are up-gunning our infantry once more with some codes that go well with the fire support a Battlesuit can bring but its not a vehicle. The IMP14 Female Retained Veteran miniature is free in all orders this month and remember  that by placing an order with us you will sign up for an account with the website and that means you get Reward Points in all purchases (plus the monthly free miniature).  These points can be used any time to get free products and discounts on orders.

Duxis Battlesuit (30mm) and Retained Knight (17mm) in 15mm Scale
Princess Cyon knows a lot of things.  I mean a lot.  It was lot before the Reord bonding and though it's even more now I can tell you that she came up with the Duxis MkI on her own.  Technics, Fabrication and Structure too.  All of it her idea.  To make her point she wore the prototype upon entering the Adden chambers and it made her point just beautifully to the Council.  We knew the Khanate had returned and we had the reports of the first contacts from Camarthen Prime but the Princess, she had her father's knowledge of the times of the first Khanate War.  We confirmed it later but in those chambers and on that day Princess Cyon said one word as she strode towards us footfalls heavy.  Encased in armour and over twelve feet tall she said 'Warlords' and then activated the holo emitters attached to the prototype's shell.  I think there was not a knight or baron in the place who did not shrink a little in their seats.  Out of thin air a monster appeared.  Like a Man in shape but larger; far larger.  She drew an energised blade longer than a Starvaulter is tall and conducted a mock melee with the projection...and she won.

Hours of discourse followed and all the while Daphne Cyon stood in her prototype Duxis Battlesuit and held sway.  The Warlords were more than a Retained Knight could cope with so make a Retained Knight more than they already were.  We did.  Now in Camarthen space we meet those hulking monsters with metal of our own.  Its a close fight but now its a fight we can and we will win!
Knight General Obermann.  Fleet Command.  4331IC

Its time for more information on the first 2014 Early Supporter Offers. Its a firm favourite from the latter weeks of the Patrol Angis playtesting.  The 15mm strutter that is the Duxis Battlesuit for the Retained of the Prydian Army.  As I have said before in the Havelock concepting post on the blog I love concept art and this latest piece is another winner from Sam Croes.  Where the Havelock is the mobile gun platform for the Muster, designed to win a Civil War, the Duxis is a ballet dancer made to combat the giant infantry of the Shia Khan Empire.  Made to give a knight the size and power to take on a Warlord in one to one combat.

The Duxis is a modular miniature in 15mm scale cast in white metal.  Featuring a two part body, separate head and separate hands it has a high degree of flexibility in posing.  Assembled it stands about 30mm tall and you can just imagine the pilot nestled within it.  Great for the Ion Age but also for all 15mm sci-fi systems that use Battlesuits or their like.  Those who are fans of Retained Knights can see a scale shot above and those who bought one or more of the hundreds of Havelock Battlesuits out there in the world can see the two battlesuits next to each other for scale below.

IAF019 Legion 2nd Tesseran

“Legion are bad enough. Let me beat on Maligs all year along instead of Legion. But those Pioneers they are way worse. They might not have those rigs the Nox have but those plates can still deflect a burst of Moth Rifle fire with no problems. I remember one time with the 658th a few months back. We were in this place, must have been a zero ball stadium or something, big and oval shaped with stripped out seats. They even had a burned out Happy Burger shack. Shame that, I used to enjoyed that gloop. Anyway there we were all set up nice and ready. No Anvils, Bodkins or Rons with us but command figured we had the Moth Type 12's with those 40mm grenades and our rifle rounds would be plenty. After all we had seen the six Tesserans coming down the bust up Rubbacrete strip towards us and we were just waiting. Fixed on the entry tunnel levelled barrels.

In they came. I saw the green suits, Medusa Legion, just for a moment before the comms signal to fire came. We opened up with everything and I watched the entry tunnel turn to powder and flame. Three seconds and we ceased. I expected green mist and nothing twitching but that ain't what happened, not at all. Turns out those alien scum bags had put in two Tesserans of Pioneers first and they had just sat down wrapped in those damn armour plates when we rained on them. Sure we dropped a couple of them but at that range and without AP it wasn't enough. As we reloaded they stood up and gave us a kiss back with a dozen Flora pattern grenaders. I lost some mates that day.

As I said Legion are bad enough but the Pioneers....screw that...that's a job for those shiny Retained lads!”

IAF019 Legion 2nd Pioneers

The Shia Khan Empire expands again this week with the second code of 15mm Legion Pioneers in their distinctive Segmentum armour plates. We present IAF019 Legion 2nd Pioneers a Tesseran which contains eight new white metal poses composed of an Ordo (officer) in cloak armed with a Cupid 0.5Kw Pistol fist raised and seven different Discens (privates) armed with the Flora Grenade Gun. Fire Support for close in work! The suit worn by Pioneers lacks the reactive glimmer of Legionaries but has the same auto-aid ability and breather function plus the protection of the Segmentum armour plates. As always this code can be bought as a pack or as single miniatures or select the three packs and save 10% option on the page.

IAF012 Legion 1st Pioneers

IAF012 Legion 1st Pioneers

The first pack of the feared Legion Pioneers! Pioneers are experienced Legionaries who don un-powered upper body armour and take on all of the toughest jobs needing done. Pioneers tend not to mix with Legionaries and are viewed by them with jealousy. Able to take far more of a beating than normal Legion the Pioneers go toe to toe with Retained Knights. This Tesseran of eight new white metal poses is composed of seven Discens (privates) armed with Maia 9.6mm Mpi and an Ordo (officer) in cloak armed with Cupid 0.5kw Pistol. The suit worn by Pioneers lacks the reactive glimmer of Legionaries but has the same auto-aid ability and breather function plus the protection of the Segmentum armour plates. As always this code can be bought as a pack or as single miniatures or select the three packs and save 10% option on the page.
