Tracked Gremlins four new 15mm vehicles released

“The sound of war treads never leaves you.  A rattle and such weight as they pass but as they pass they are your salvation. That was on the third day on the outskirts of Northern Sector and we were pinned down.  So many Maligs and none with a sense of self preservation.  Five regiments calling for support and with no Retained Knights that meant our own armour.  We were the first to be aided by the Gremlins.  Their missile pods made short work of the defensive ramparts the Goblins had erected.  I signalled the advance and in the cover of their hulls we dispatched the survivors.  The Star Port was near and whatever the Khanate were up to we would stop it.” Captain Abraham Tull, 48th Planetary Defence Regiment, Northern Sector.  4346 IC.

Following on the heels or should that be skirts of the new Gremlin family of vehicles in their hover variants we now release the four variants of this medium vehicle with tracked propulsion!  Above a tracked Gremlin AFV with Valerin Laser Cannon screens a fire-team of Planetary Militia in the new fallen snows. The Gremlin gives Planetary Militia, Grima and sometimes Muster added mobility and firepower that out classes the smaller Adder for weaponry and outpaces the much heavier Mullo classes of transport.  These are all our 15mm sci-fi releases for the month.

The Ion Age 15mm Range

Patrol Angis is a skirmish level of wargame which means it typically has between a dozen and about forty miniatures a side in play during a game. It works well with more but those amounts are ideal. Most games have one Platoon sized force per player and have one or two or maybe even three players. A Platoon or Lance which contains typically twenty two (22) miniatures. In Patrol Angis you play either as the Prydian Army in its quest to reclaim worlds lost to the Marcher Barons during the Civil War or you can play in the employ of Canlaster or Yordist or any of the other dozen smaller array of Marcher Barons. This includes playing as a “Conda”' or paid professional mercenary for any side.

This is low intensity warfare title where troops mainly on foot, root each other out over small objectives. It’s not massive, not often glamorous, but it’s pure adventure, it’s the stuff of heroes and it’s skirmishing at its best! Easy to get into and to build upon. It’s the starting point for your wargaming in The Ion Age!

It is a book or a digital download or a game pack with miniatures, dice and bases.

While Patrol Angis is meant for use with the 15mm range it can be used with the 28mm Ion Age Miniatures too. Simply change centimetres to inches and you are ready to go with Retained Knights, Muster and more. Beotan Lycanthropes remastered for 28mm Ion Age

 “Who would have thought that out here in the darkness, in the vastness of space, that creatures of our long gone ancestors nightmares would turn out to be real. I never did but then I have seen a lot since arriving in the Camarthen Cluster two years ago. Aliens who want our worlds; hell not just our worlds. They want us too. Brought to their heel or dead or worse. I ended up in the tundra so at least I was spared the lizards but here there are teeth..lots of teeth. My armour has their marks upon it and I do not have them repaired or painted over. Memory helps me survive. I will have to face them again. Werewolves...real ones.”

Now remastered and returned to the expanding 28mm Ion Age science fiction range (over 230 poses) are the original two Beotan Lycanthropes. At 40mm tall these metal savage slaves of the Khanate are terror troops used (much like the Psycoborgs) to break the will of Humanity to resist the Legions. While The Ion Age is its own setting it does have a measure of involvement with the HOF Range over at Alternative Armies in the form of the Resource Wars.  The earliest history of what would become the Prydian Precinct many thousands of years in the future began on Earth in the twenty first century.  As you can read in the game books the Resource Wars were the catalyst which moves Humanity off into space, firstly the mineral rich solar system and then in mighty generational Ark Ships out into the stars.  They took the patterns of vehicles and equipment with them and though they have never even heard of Earth in many cases there are worlds where Charger APC and other vehicles have been made anew.  A great way to mix up your Planetary Militia with a local defence force using these vehicles.  We have a number of free articles for this HERE.

Marcher Barons, Nobles and Diodine Sparrow 15mm packs released

The Council of Addans and Marcher Barons

The worlds and systems of the Prydian Precinct were organised into a loose alliance overseen by the Council of Addans, all with the desire for peace and prosperity at the end of the thousand years of dark times. In the year 4001 IC in the star system of New Glastonbury, the council was established. It was here that the Ancep Drive was developed, and this helped make it a natural choice, but New Glastonbury prime is also the place where the Tor is located. The Tor is a huge artificial satellite or moonlet that hangs above the planet, a place of truly ancient age and fashioned not by the hand of man. New Glastonbury and the Tor are the focal point of the Prydian Precinct.

For more than two centuries the Addans oversaw the pacification and then flourishing of the fifty nearest star systems, leaving the outer reaches much to their own devices. Members of the Council of Addans are always Marcher Barons whose local power in the ownership of planets or moons gives them great say in the massive council chamber located on the Tor. Matters which affected the whole Precinct are the remit of the Addans, such as trade and the building of starships, while matters within the domain of each Marcher Baron on the council is their own concern. In times of war, the Barons contributed their own troops to the cause under the leadership of a Knight General appointed by the Addans. At the top of the structure is the throne for the Prydian Precinct it has a royal family and always a king or queen upon that throne with whom ultimate authority resides.

A delicate arrangement of balances which became unspun with the death of King Cyon leading to the Prydian Civil War. Now Princess Daphne Cyon now leads the Prydian Army against the Leagues of Yordan and Canlaster and other rebelling Marcher Barons. A delicate balance of power based on the Throne and the Marcher Barons has unravelled leading to a Civil War.

As you can see from the extract taken from Patrol Angis the notion of nobility is central to life in the Prydian Precinct.  To be in the Retained a small degree of nobility is needed (if differs from world to world) such as by birth or by extended family or noble deed or the ownership of property or significant assets.  Those without join the Muster and hope to advance into the Retained.  Above the typical Retained are the Nobles themselves ranging from the lowest who commands only a few knights to those who lead lances and then entire regiments.  Those at the apex are the Marcher Barons who oversee whole Condot companies, nations and even planets.  There are several thousand Marcher Barons and they wield colossal power.  Now you can add such nobles to your Prydian Army or League or Condot collections.

A thousand years before the outbreak of the civil war that would pull Prydian space apart the last Khanate war forced the detonation of a universal potent bomb. IAFP12 Beotan Ordos (platoon pack)

A Full Ordos (Platoon) of 15mm miniatures which includes a free unique miniature only found in this code which you can buy on its own too. A full Ordos of miniatures as well as an additional free unique miniature found only in this code. An Ordos of thirty two Beotans (space werewolves) composed of four Tesserans.  A full force for your wargaming table. IAF155 Beotan 1st Tesseran

This pack contains eight different poses of 15mm scale white metal miniatures.  Beotans are Werewolves who dress in a combat harness and are used in cold climes and urban warfare.  The first Tesseran contains the Ordos rifle trooper poses for your force.  It is one of four Tesserans which make up a Beotan Ordos or platoon.  Seven different discens armed with Juno Rifles and a low rank officer or trooper with Cupid Pistol and Juno Rifle. While we were taking the photos for the new miniatures we played a game of Patrol Angis and here are two photos from that scenario.  As you can see two Retained Knight gun crew on a Moth 88 Espatan Portable Weapon Platform fail to hold off a charge by Beotans upon their position.  Beotans encircle an Adder Combat car with its dead Muster crew laying next to it.  The Adder Combat Car is an Orange type with grenade launcher turret which has been modified with additional baggage and parts from our Vehicle Conversion Pack to make it an extended recon car.
