Do you feel sorry for the Canlastrian forces...I do! |
Its a mighty big vehicle and damn impressive too! Bob Naismith has done a fantastic job on bringing my idea of what a futuristic science fiction space opera Human tracked tank would look like into a resin reality. There are more articles to come including one on the Taranis Running Tank Drones and an Information Burst fiction article followed by joy of joys the ESO's themselves!
Thanks for Reading.

Wow. This looks great. The clean lines, oval air intakes and flat profile give it a plausibly military but futuristic look. A lot of sci fi stuff is all rule of cool and shot traps everywhere, but this is a stylish nod to "realism", if that word can be used about something imaginary :)
ReplyDeleteIt also reminds me a bit of the tank in "Unreal Tournament 2004", which I spent way too much time playing...
I know that game, that takes me back. Thanks for the kind words. Real enough but space opera is what we are aiming for with the vehicles since there are no real battlesuits or space knights as it were.

Excellent design, looking forward to getting my hands on a few!
ReplyDeleteThanks Don. Next week they will be on the website with offers on a single and on three all with discount and free items too.

45mm wide would have been enough...
ReplyDeleteSome people like it wide. :-) Thanks for your comment Kull.

This line of products is looking great! Nice look to your models and they tie into each other well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Edgar. We are on the way to a big universe just watch us grow.

Really like the looks of these. Any change we can see how they compare with other manufacturers? My Khurasan tanks need some opponents!
ReplyDeletethe whole point of the ion age line is to make you play their universe with their rules and their miniatures to the exclusion of any inter-compatibility with other 15mm SF lines...hence the scale creep and the large dimensions of the tank...however the Khurasan Red Banner line, the Khurasan Siler and the CMG Dragamaa are semi-compatible with it...
DeleteThanks for your comments guys. On the odd occasion we will do comparison shots with miniatures from Alternative Armies and 15mm.co.uk as Ion Age is part of the same company and of course we show comparison with other models in our range which many people have. We do not show comparison with other makers as this is the domain of third parties such as Dropship Horizon blog and indeed there are so many other makers to show some and not others would be unfair. As for what Kull says certainly we do want you to purchase our products of course we do but remember the Taranis is a heavy weight vehicle and actually its dimensions are based on the Challenger 2 plus 10% wider so its in scale. See the previous postings on the blog for photos of all pieces with sizing. Thanks. GBS
