MOTH squad level rules event and 28mm platoon packs

We want to thank everyone who took part in our Double Reward Points event last week and congratulations to the two IonFans who got their points high enough to get the 9000 points Habitation Colony Bundle (worth 125.00GBP) for free!  Now we welcome you to our last event of the month and this time it is on our MOTH squad level skirmish rules as a digital download which is half price and also new extra value platoon packs of our 28mm Prydian Army and Shia Khan Empire range of miniatures.  Read on for details and half price ends midnight 31st August 2018.  Or right now go to our 28mm Publications Page and our 28mm Prydian Army and 28mm Khanate pages on the website.

There are several rule systems set in the space opera future of The Ion Age and among these is MOTH.  It is a print book and a digital download and we have taken fifty percent off the already twenty percent cheaper digital version of the book.  Here are some details and this system works in 28mm and 15mm too with a simple alteration.

“I told you men to stay in close.  Stay close to me at all times."

"Yes, your back seat air-raft driver of a vid trainer Majoris said to spread out and avoid bunching.  So that one little Anvil hit won’t turn you all into pureed Juktuk meat; so that you can operate well on your own in this war.  Well guess what privates he don’t know a damn thing about being here on Palakus six and he didn’t know a damn thing about command either."

"So you spread out, so you ain’t all in one close group by squad, sure enough one kaboom ain’t gonna get all of you but I will tell you what will.  The first time you all wander off and can’t hear what I am a bellowing since the com-net will be down, it always is, you can bet the foe will see it.  When you go up against those Canlastrian knights you will be cut down by a hurricane of 12.5mm rounds since you ain’t hearing what I am yelling ‘bout taking cover."

"Command is personal and its experience too.  The risk of being in a close group is more than offset by being able to hear, react and act as one.  Eyeball and Moth ain’t enough…takes joined up brains too.”

- Corp Terry Junos, 12th Regiment training grounds, Galtor, Palakus VI.

Plus unique features such as Break Shots, Degrade Fire, two action choice among many others makes the game flow excellently and combines tension with fun in battle. To play MOTH in 15mm scale simply reduced all weapon ranges and movement and such distances by changing from Inches to Centimetres for the smaller scale. No other changes are needed. This allows you to use your Patrol Angis lances and platoons in a game of MOTH.

Marcher Barons, Nobles and Diodine Sparrow 15mm packs released

It is my great delight to make the official release announcement for our April 2018 new codes here at The Ion Age.  We are still in the March to War event (until 16th April and see details HERE of free shipping and free miniatures) and now you can see these nine new 15mm awesome sculpts by Sam Croes.  Go HERE or read on for more.

The Council of Addans and Marcher Barons
The worlds and systems of the Prydian Precinct were organised into a loose alliance overseen by the Council of Addans, all with the desire for peace and prosperity at the end of the thousand years of dark times. In the year 4001 IC in the star system of New Glastonbury, the council was established. It was here that the Ancep Drive was developed, and this helped make it a natural choice, but New Glastonbury prime is also the place where the Tor is located. The Tor is a huge artificial satellite or moonlet that hangs above the planet, a place of truly ancient age and fashioned not by the hand of man. New Glastonbury and the Tor are the focal point of the Prydian Precinct.

For more than two centuries the Addans oversaw the pacification and then flourishing of the fifty nearest star systems, leaving the outer reaches much to their own devices. Members of the Council of Addans are always Marcher Barons whose local power in the ownership of planets or moons gives them great say in the massive council chamber located on the Tor. Matters which affected the whole Precinct are the remit of the Addans, such as trade and the building of starships, while matters within the domain of each Marcher Baron on the council is their own concern. In times of war, the Barons contributed their own troops to the cause under the leadership of a Knight General appointed by the Addans. At the top of the structure is the throne for the Prydian Precinct it has a royal family and always a king or queen upon that throne with whom ultimate authority resides.

A delicate arrangement of balances which became unspun with the death of King Cyon leading to the Prydian Civil War. Now Princess Daphne Cyon now leads the Prydian Army against the Leagues of Yordan and Canlaster and other rebelling Marcher Barons. A delicate balance of power based on the Throne and the Marcher Barons has unravelled leading to a Civil War.
Taken from IAB01 Patrol Angis – What is The Ion Age?

As you can see from the extract taken from Patrol Angis the notion of nobility is central to life in the Prydian Precinct.  To be in the Retained a small degree of nobility is needed (if differs from world to world) such as by birth or by extended family or noble deed or the ownership of property or significant assets.  Those without join the Muster and hope to advance into the Retained.  Above the typical Retained are the Nobles themselves ranging from the lowest who commands only a few knights to those who lead lances and then entire regiments.  Those at the apex are the Marcher Barons who oversee whole Condot companies, nations and even planets.  There are several thousand Marcher Barons and they wield colossal power.  Now you can add such nobles to your Prydian Army or League or Condot collections.

IAF156 Marcher Barons of Prydia
This pack contains three different 15mm very high ranking nobles of the Precinct ideal to command your forces in war all wearing elaborate Alwite powered armour decorated with seals and badges of livery.  A Marcher Baron aiming a Carnwennan Pistol with plumed helm.  A Marcher Baron with Octa Powered Sword raised and weapon slung.  A Marcher Baron firing Carnwennan Pistol and plumed helm.  Ideal for characters in the Prydian Army or any other force which uses Retained Knights such as the League of Yordan or League of Canlaster. Just choose your uniform.  You have the option of purchasing a pack or three packs saving 10% or single poses from the pack for your collection.  Price 3.00GBP per pack. Go HERE.

IAF157 Nobles of Prydia
This pack contains three different 15mm nobles of the Precinct ideal to command your lances all wearing elaborate Alwite powered armour and carrying a mix of energy melee weapons and Carnwennan Pistol.  A Noble leaning forward with decorate helm and Carnwennan Pistol.  A Noble preparing Carnwennan Pistol.  A Noble running with Carnwennan Pistol and plumed helm. Go HERE.

PIA003 Uniforms of the Prydian Precinct

PIA007 Prydian Precinct Star Map
A thousand years before the outbreak of the civil war that would pull Prydian space apart the last Khanate war forced the detonation of a universal potent bomb. This bomb called the 'Aldan Crucible' ended the Shia Khan incursion in this part of the galaxy by destroying not only their Matter Gateway but also the entire Aldan stellar system. In the dark centuries that followed the detonation savage and exotic Dolorous Clouds formed across Prydian space which hid entire star systems and made travel in or near them very dangerous indeed. This star map shows more than one hundred stellar systems as spoken of in our titles as well as the regions held by the League of Canlaster and the League of Yordan in the pivotal year of 4330 IC. Great for your wall and for planning your campaigns in The Ion Age. By our lead designer Sam Croes this is an A3 poster print. You can purchase one poster print at a great price or three of the same one and automatically save 10% on screen. You can also get the poster print signed by the artist. Additionally with this work of art you can purchase it as a digital download of the hi-rez poster at just 2.00GBP.  Go HERE.

The first of two releases this February 2018 sees us add to our poster print collection at The Ion Age with an eighth A3 high quality print for your wall. Not many wargame brands make such posters and we do it purely for the love of it putting them on our own walls first.  After the release of the third book in the Patrol Angis series IAB03 The Khanate Return there was interest in getting a better notion of what the colours of the Shia Khan Empire were when it came to the Legions assaulting Mankind.  I worked with Aris and together we created this new poster.  We present PIA008 Uniforms of the Khanate as an A3 Poster and as a Digital Download.  See all our posters HERE or read on for more.

PIA007 Prydian Precinct Starmap
A3 Digitally drawn by our lead designer Sam Croes.

PIA006 Eat at Happy Burger
More than three hundred million cans of Robo Cola are sold across the Precinct every single day and their taste goes perfectly with the 'Meat-tay-eat' burgers sold alongside them. Taste alone makes this possible with the people of a thousand cities flocking to the booths and eateries for treats. Taste is backed up with billions of posters put up everywhere there is a space. From the transit lanes to the agri-zones as well as spaceports and hospitals these posters promote Happy Burger. They can also be bought for your own hab walls for a modest fee from behind the counter. Just as your server. A3 Digitally drawn by our lead designer Sam Croes.

PIA005 Callsign Taranis Cover Art
Majesty and sheer ruddy terror is what I think of when I see those Taranis tanks. Lethal instruments of war advancing over broken rocky ground while behind them the torn remains of their last enemies are burning. This is how I see the cover of Callsign Taranis.  A3 and digitally drawn by our lead designer Sam Croes.

PIA004 Patrol Angis Cover Art
Atop a downed Battlesuit the heroes gather as the foes circle all around. Their weapons make fire to the fore as behind a rebelling city is lit aflame by the laser bombardment of a low floating starship. This is how I see the cover of Patrol Angis. A3 and digitally drawn by our lead designer Sam Croes.

PIA003 Uniforms of the Prydian Precinct
From the Prydian Army to the Leagues of Yordan and Canlaster as well as system defence and mercenary companies too this poster gives you all their uniforms to use on your figures or just to put on your wall for inspiration as you plan your games. Digitally drawn by Aris Kolehmainen. Here is a list of the uniforms on the poster. Some of these feature in Patrol Angis and in Callsign Taranis while others will fight the good fight in forthcoming articles and books: 1. Prydian Army 2. League of Canlaster 3. League of Yordan 4. The Quarrel Company 5. Barony of Castella 6. The Hotspurs Company 7. The Merfold Company 8. Barony of Malmesbury 9. League of Tilbury 10. The Rheged Company 11. The Sein Company 12. The Bezant Company 13. Fauconbergs Raiders 14. De Vere's Company 15. The Chard 16. Barony of Caerwent 17. The Gryllus Company  18. Barony of Carhaix  19. Barony of Messena 20. The Geolu Company 21. Towton System Defence 22. Blore System Defence 23. Barony of Linnuis 24. The Flame Company 25. The Midnight Expanse 26. Barony of Caerleon  27. The Barghest Company 28. The Hemlock Company 29. The Lindworm 30. The Naranga Company.

PIA002 Matter Gateway Nox
Hugo Sevaris was a traitor to all Mankind for he re-opened a Matter Gateway and gave the Shia Khan Empire access to Prydian space once more.  From the shimmering purple haze of the gateway came the Nox.  Fear them for they are the night and the death among us now... A3 and digitally drawn by our lead designer Sam Croes.  The cover of IAB03 The Khanate Return.

PIA001 Ylona of Prydia
At the Zanzibar Breakers conflict a hero was found.  Ylona defeated scores of foes and eventually led to the defeat of Maligar Hanz.  Her Tumbler 9mm Mpi is a prized artefact in the stores of the 414th Regiment of Prydia.  She now continues the good fight on Camarthan Prime against the Khanate. A3 and digitally drawn by our lead designer Sam Croes.

Go HERE for the poster collection.

Later this month we will be releasing again and that release will see the completion of the Beotan Ordos with a new pack and a new platoon with unique miniature included free.  But more on that in a couple of weeks.

PIA007 Prydian Precinct Starmap poster and download released!

Our last release for January 2017!  When we released the Uniforms of the Prydian Precinct poster we were really happy with the reaction to Aris's efforts to show all the outfits of the Marchers Barons and Mercenaries and more of The Ion Age.  That was about the time we began to get requests for a star map of the stellar geography of the Precinct.  As you can imagine to create this in full is no small undertaking and so Sam Croes set aside some time and now the result is available for you all to enjoy. My own print is already on my wall.  We present PIA007 Prydian Precinct Starmap as an A3 poster and a digital download!  See all our posters HERE or read on for more.

As with all of our other products we offer you several purchase options.  You can purchase one poster print at a great price or three of the same one and automatically save 10% on screen.  You can also get the poster print signed by the artist.  Additionally with this work of art you can purchase it as a digital download of the hi-rez poster for half the price of the print.  Select this option on the drop down menu.  Go HERE.
