Today is the last day to get IMP08 Muster Girl free in all orders with us.  Any order you place will recieve one casting of this miniature automatically.  From 1st May this miniature will be replaced with IMP09.  This was the promo miniature at Salute 2014 and we handed out two hundred on the day with purchases and have send out more than five hundred across the month in total.

IAF046 Infernus Malig Tank released!

 This is a unique vehicle in 15mm scale which while based on a historical military and science fiction design from the real world is very much in the space opera and classic fun style of wargaming the Ion Age wants to achieve. Space Goblins are trouble, vicious, verminous and expendable...the Infernus a ball of fire and death makes them awesome on your gaming table.

 

There are many vehicles in the typical Shia Khan Legion but few are as terrifying and unpredictable as the Malig operated Infenus Tank or Assault Roller known as the 'ball tank'. Crudely built but capable of taking quite a beating the tank crushes and barrels its way around a battlefield. Its two hull halves spinning while the centre remains stationary. A metal ball armed with twin heavy Charon Fire Projectors and two anti-personnel Maia Mpi's it is a death dealing sphere gouting flame and bullets. Often deployed in support of Malig Tesserans and whole Malig Ordos it is a good foe for Prydian light vehicles and Battlesuits such as the Adder and the Havelock. That is of course assuming it does not roll over and crush its own troops! Infernus are allocated singly or in Tesserans of three vehicles. Maligs are loathed by Humans but the Infernus shows they either have a sense of humour of they are actual rather mad!

This pack contains the following parts which can be seen in the mono image on the page: A left hull, a right hull, a centre hull, a unique base with imprint to hold the vehicle (50mm wide), a left Charon weapon, a right Charon weapon, two Maia Mpi plug in weapons, a hatch and the upper body of a Malig driver with viewer (allowing the choice of closed hull or driver emerged builds).

Firefight 2.0 back in stock at The Ion Age

Just a quick post to let you all know the Firefight 2.0 the Ion Age game of 28mm intense urban combat is back in stock.  We ran out just before the Salute show and I took the final few copies to the show on the day.  Apologies to those who tried to order it before the end of the promo period and so to make up I have placed an offer upon it.  Ten percent off the book with tiles and the same off the boxed set with the miniatures and dice included.  Excellent!

Thanks Everyone Salute Season is now over!

What we began the day with and ended it with

Its been a month of real fun and extreme activity for Alternative Armies, 15mm.co.uk and The Ion Age with promotions, new releases and special rates all leading up to the mighty Salute 2014 wargame show in London at the weekend there.  The Salute Season is now over.

We are getting back to normal now and while it will take us a few days I wanted to thank everyone who ordered across our websites, those who gave us kind words and those who took the time to speak to us at the show.  It means a lot and its my one time a year to meet customers face to face and to chat to fans and followers.  I had more than one hundred conversations on Saturday on subjects from Flintloque to Patrol Angis, from USEME Prohibition Gangsters to Age of Might and Steel and Alien Squad Leader too.  I got to meet others in the industry and what fine hard working fellows they all are each with a firing imagination and a love for miniatures and wargaming.

Alternative Armies decided to host The Ion Age on the trade stand this year and it got great feedback with dozens of new customers and admiring comments too.  Next time we may do something different but being such a diverse company there are many possibilities and there is a lot of time until the next show.  We gave out near the two hundred free IMP08 Muster Girl miniatures we took with us (one with every purchase just like online) and Malig Madness was fully sold out along with the new HOF28 Charger APC kit which is out this week on the website.

What will be the theme of next year's Salute show?  No one knows at this point.  No one knows anything about the future of Salute at this moment but for Alternative Armies it will be another month of fun around and at the show you can be assured of that!

The March 2014 Free Miniature

Its been quite a week for work.  Actually insane level of busy for all of us here, you know why, no need to repeat it.  But on my short breaks I have been trawling the net looking for Ion Age miniatures and so on.  I found the above image on The Miniatures Page and realised it was one of our customers, a great chap I had assisted when one of his orders went missing.

Lovely paint work on the IMP07 Female Muster Patrol Officer which was the free in all orders miniature in March 2014.  Featured on the Painting Agency Blog run by Allison M.  You can read about it here.

In a previous post about the Zin Envoy I mentioned that I am thinking on the possibility of having the free miniatures availiable again for a limited time.  If you are interested email me or comment.  You can see that posting here.

Lastly the crazy Goblin fun of the Infernus Ball Tank just makes me smile and its pretty damn special too.  Here's a picture of the parts for a wee closer look.

We were asked to expand the Maligs by IonFans and we have...big style! I look forward to seeing you all at Salute, first come first served stock will be limited to about fifty packs of each but we will bring as much as we can.

The Zin Envoy at Tiny Solitary Soldiers Blog

The Zin Envoy!

After featuring a lovely painted Loud Ninja Games space raptor over on the 15mm.co.uk blog I discovered this morning a fantastic example of the formerly free miniature for February 2014 the Zin Envoy painted up in the same place. HERE.  I love seeing our miniatures painted up by different talents.  Good job!

I am keeping a count of the number of wargamers who ask for the formally free monthly miniature to be re-released.  Once it reaches three hundred requests I have promised to look into it.  I am thinking that if we do this it might be along the lines of either a set of the twelve on our one year anniversary that will stay on the website, or having them up as singles for a month only on our anniversary in August each year allowing gaps to be filled.  I do want to keep them promo and special as many emails coming to me have said they adore getting the thrill each month.

Last Call for 'Collect on the Day' Salute Orders!

The title says it all really.  The Salute 2014 show is on Saturday 12th April 2014 at Excel in London.  We are on Alternative Armies trade stand number TF07.  The trade stand will have all of the Ion Age 15mm product range plus brand new revealed releases.  Codes IAF046, IAF047,IAF048,IAF049,IAF050.  We will also have brand new and from the last month products from 15mm.co.uk (Loud Ninja Games, Laserburn Vehicles, Tents, Prang etc) and some printed titles and that is it!  Thar' be space for no more matey upon the stand!

The cut off for placing orders for 'collection on the day', that is orders for which you select no postage and instead opt to get your package from my own hands at the trade stand on the 12th is NOON GMT on Wednesday 9th April.  So please place them now!  Any later than this and it will not be with us as its a long drive to London.  The postage option for this is called 'collect at Salute' on the screen.

The discount code for 15% off will remain active until Monday 14th April for normal orders being shipped worldwide.  So if you are not attending treat yourself all the same.  You will get IMP08 free automatically in all cases in the package.

Muster Girl - IMP08 Free Miniature for April 2014
